Suggestions for next novel

Thank you very much everyone for all your wonderful suggestions. Took me quite a while to go through them all, and quite a few I did add to my personal reading list haha.

I have decided on the next series to translate, and hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

So guys, as most of you already know (judging from the comments and those who keep an eye on NU), we are super close to catching up to the raws with To Be a Power in the Shadows! (we are at chapter 80, and the raw is at chapter 82 as of last night).

Originally I had expected the volume to end at chapter 80, as all previous volumes have been 20 chapters, give or take 1 or 2, but it seems that’s not happening for this volume, for better or for worse. There goes my hope for a clean cut to hiatus.

Either way, since the releases will slow down (the raws come out at a pace of 1 chapter every other day, so I’ll try to match that), I’m open to suggestions for a new novel to pick up. So anyone see any interesting new novel lately that you want translated? Try to keep the genre similar to Shadows, so action and comedy are must-haves. (One that no other translator has picked up of course, I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes.)

(I’m sorry, but I don’t really feel like taking back up any of the old series that I was working on.)

    The translation’s been halted for a time now please it seems interesting enough three people with the same identity living in three different worlds and how they are able to influence each other!!!

  7. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/reincarnation-into-the-barrier-master/ It’s a story about a man who woke up and found himself in the body of a child slave (I think he died, but I can’t remember) and was bought by this kind noble family who was killed in a coup (he killed the perpetrators and decimated the country as well).

    The original translators quit like a little over quarter through the current chapter count. I was hoping to start off as a translator doing it but my Japanese is like low-to-nonexistent right now. Gonna have to hit the books.

    And then there’s Sendai Yuusha (https://www.novelupdates.com/series/sendai-yuusha-wa-inkyou-shitai/). It’s a story about a former hero who was summoned to a world (that he had already slain the Demon King) with a new group of heroes and so he sets off on a journey by himself.

    I haven’t heard from its translators yet and the last post they did was six months ago.

    Another one I was about to list was Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha, but it has already been licensed by J-Novel Club. But yet another good one is Sayonara Ryuusei Konnichiwa Jinsei, about a Dragon God reincarnating as a human. It was stopped at chapter 16 but has about 265.

    All of these I listed are still ongoing as of this comment.

    Story about a young Demon who travels with a interesting group to run away from humans. The Majjin in this are really interesting ,there is a selfimportant angel and a quest to defend MCs Tail from unwanted Mofumofu. Gets at times rather serious with some Sacrifice and Racism so its not as funny as Shadows.
    Hasnt been updated in years so it is definitly available.
    Thought this was a great novel, which has been forrgotten for quite some time.

  13. Hi, this is only suggestion so you don’t have to take me too seriously.

    Don’t take something similar to “To be power in the shadow”. The series is good, it’s different from generic isekai novel. But picking up the same/similar thing to your previous gem will never worked out the same.

    I have once followed so many isekai novel on NU until I realized that it was all the same, repetition and repetition so i droped most of them and only keep 2 novels until I found this series.

    So ya, this is only my suggestion. Pick up something different and you may found another gem that no one ever realize before
